About Bromure
Bromure runs coding agents and web browsing in disposable virtual machines on your Mac, so a hostile page, a poisoned dependency or an agent that goes off the rails stays in the box, away from your keys, sessions and files.
Who builds Bromure
Renaud Deraison
Creator of Bromure
Renaud Deraison is the co-founder and former CTO of Tenable Inc. (NASDAQ: TENB), a leading cybersecurity company. He is an advisor to several cybersecurity startups and investment funds.
Before founding Tenable, Renaud authored Nessus, an open source vulnerability scanner. It became the de facto standard in vulnerability management and has helped hundreds of thousands of professionals get started in cybersecurity.
LinkedInWhy Bromure
Coding agents are only useful with real access: your repositories, your cloud accounts, your package registries. Your browser holds every session you are signed into. Both run code you did not write.
Bromure keeps that access and moves what uses it into a VM. The agent works with stand-in credentials while the real ones stay on your Mac, and web pages run in a machine you can throw away.
Built with agents, inside Bromure
I build Bromure with coding agents that run inside Bromure itself. I set the requirements, review the work and test the results. The GPU renderer in Bromure 5 was written that way, by one agent on the Mac and one in the Linux VM it renders for.
How the Bromure 5 renderer was builtCommitments
- Free and open source. Bromure is released under the MIT license, and the full source is on GitHub.
- Your browsing stays on your Mac. The sites you visit, the cookies they set and the data they load never pass through Bromure's servers.
- Your data is not for sale. It is not sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
The company
Bromure is published by Seclio LLC, my company. Because the code is MIT-licensed, you can keep building and running it whatever happens to Seclio.
